Hey editor. I'm amish and have very poor internet access so I don't get to check this often. I just read about your pittsburg gay experience(not that you had a GAY EXPERIENCE, per se). very funny stuff. people should have a little more self respect.
As an Englisham from England not an Englisham who is English just because he isn't Amish I have to say that I love this site. I am sitting in my back yard here in England laughing my socks off. I am coming to Lancaster County in a few weeks time and shall make sure that I do not take photos or look stupid. (I shall try anyway). I would however like to see you all learn that Englishmen are from England and not just the people outside of your community. How can someone from NJ or NY be English? I think my revenge is to call anyone that is not really English Amish in future and see how you all feel!
I actually lived in Smoketown for a while and love Amish Country!
I look forward to seeing Ira in a few weeks time. Maybe we can all get together for a root-beer and settle this Amsih/English debate for good!
I think Ira has figured out that if he doesn't update the Harmon story people will check every day and that drastically drives up his hit counter.Sounds like something the New York Times would do ,har,har
I wondered why the site was still getting hits while it's authors are too busy or lazy to update. A new Harmon is coming soon. Check every day so you don't miss it.

ira, i asked you at camp peniel when the next chapter of Harmon is coming on. you said, "next week." well it is past next week and the story is not on.
You may as well remove the "Recently Updated" feature, since there is nothing that fits that criteria any more. BTW, what's Harmon going to do next?

On your recent review of the book 'Crossing Over' by the kalona Ia.ex- Amish girl,you got it all wrong.We just got the book off e-bay and kinda like it.After all,how maney Kalona folk Have you ever met that can write or read more than their own names?

A.She may have been raised on a hog farm,where 'the fatter the better' is the rule of thumb,you might say.
B.Perhaps The Kalona amish boys may really be as ugly as I've always heard.
C.Really,she is a good writer,if you get past her poor judgement in some things.Poor thing,hope they sleep in seperate beds as what would happen if the big dude rolled over in his sleep ?She'd get sqooooooshed.Big time.

Ira, whats up with not updating Harmon? you wrote a comment in AUGUST that its coming soon. In "soon" did you mean like six months from now or something?because if thats the case then you can plan on not getting any "hits" from me until about then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can't find out what Ira is up to on his web site, try reading The Budget newspaper. The Bird-In-Hand column occasionally mentions his exploits. Did you know he was IN the Grand Canyon?
You seem to like posting pictures of signs in the area. The sign that is as true to the culture and character of the locals is the scootering firefighter. It is located between the underpass and the fire station. You need to post it. Where it not for the deeply ingrained teachings of the cultural I would take the photo and email to you. But no, I being a model scholar of the society I must leave those evils to you Mennonites.

You should shut down this site. It is completely pointless to have a site and not update it. Most of it is baloney anyway and the only interesting thing, the Harmon series, never gets updated. If you don't have time to update a site don't have one!
Having followed Harmon's story for quite some time. However I have become kind of suspicious. I was unable to find Harmon Stoltzfus in either the Beachy directory or the Fisher book. Furthermore I was unable to find Bird-in-hand Amish Mennonite Church in the Directory. Our family was going to travel to Pennsylvania to visit some relatives and we wanted to visit that church because some of the sermons you described sounded interesting, and so I was disappointed to learn that it doesn't exist. Is it possible that you made up the entire Harmon story? How could you do that. If I knew who your bishop was I would write him a letter.
